CSHL Youth Hockey
Eastside is a Cleveland Heights Youth Hockey Association and Cleveland Skating Club partnership founded in 2016, boasting multiple sheets of ice at convenient times. All skaters receive weekly skills instruction from Tim Okicki (Okicki Hockey). Goalkeepers receive sessions with Damian Rhodes (former 9 year NHL goaltender). We are longtime members of the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL).
Ages
This program is for boys and girls 5-14 years old who have completed at least one session of Learn-to-Play. Skaters should be able to turn, stop and skate backwards a bit.
When
Official practices begin the week of Labor Day and the league season ends with playoff finals the first week in March. Eastside is proud to offer free spring ice once a week through 10U-14U tryouts in April.
Where
Practices and home games will be played at the Cleveland Heights Community Center and Cleveland Skating Club. Games may be played across northeast Ohio.
Practices
Teams practice for one hour 2-3 times during the week, starting between 5:45 and 8:45pm. Younger age groups generally practice at earlier times.
Games
Teams play 16-22 league games from mid-October to mid-February (includes a preseason for divisional seating). Games are played on the weekend. Your team may also participate in 1-3 weekend tournaments over the year which offer a total of 30 games/season. Tournaments are pay-to-play and are around $100 per player to register. 8U ADM/Mites play half-ice games. ADM Blue Teams (reserved for beginning players) play an abbreviated 8-10 game season starting in December.
Jerseys
8U ADM/Mite players receive home and away jerseys and hockey socks at no charge. 10U-14U players must purchase our club jerseys, as needed. Fittings occur at the rink in September and cost less than $200 for the home/away package.

Additional Costs
USA Hockey Membership ($15-70 per year, depending on age) is required prior to registration with our program. Click here to register. If players elect to participate in supplemental tournaments, they are responsible for tournament entry fees and/or travel expenses.
Financial assistance
We believe cost should never be a barrier to your child's participation. If you are a Cleveland Heights Resident, financial assistance is available through the Youth Recreation Fund. Other sources are available as well. Contact us for more details.
2024-2025
Incoming players who missed spring team tryouts and all 8U skaters will be evaluated during practice in the fall.
